I’ve wanted to do this strip since the beginning. It’s an old gag, and it’s been done hundreds of times, and naturally I just couldn’t resist. Also there’s a bit of an easteregg in this comic. I sort of included a little foreshadowing of another character to show up soon in the storyline.

Nothing much to update on except to announce that Volume 1 of Ninja’d is out!

It covers the whole Moony arc. I’m hoping to make enough money on it to keep the site afloat.

Ever get that feeling like someone is testing you, and if you fail… you’ll fail at life too?
That whole weekend felt like one big test, which is why I pretty much did anything anyone asked me to do (that was legal and non demeaning). The first volume of Ninja’d that’s to come out next month has been named “First Impressions”. It a very deep title. Not only did it reflect the whole storyline up until now, but it was literally what that whole first weekend at MTAC was about in 2009. It was my first real show, and personally, I felt that it dictated how my career was gonna continue. Which is why anything Sonny threw at me (art trade, comic jam), I pretty much said yes. It was a challenging weekend, and I needed to be challenged.

That weekend molded me into the mind I am today.
I’ll say it time and time again, April 1st 2009 was the day that changed my life forever.
And that’s no April Fools Joke!

Oh and I really really really wanted Moony to look demonic LOL.
Deep down he’s a sadist, and lives to take throw Ally out of her comfort zone.

Still unpacking, so no incentive this week, (Please vote!!) I’m hoping to be on schedule again within the next two weeks.
Got everything settled, the first copy of Ninja’d Vol 1 has been shipped to me. I’m gonna try to get some feedback from some close friends on it.

It should be up for sale in September!

For some unknown reason I love the flow of this particular comic. Nothing much to point out except I remembered laughing out loud when I came up with it, and No… I didn’t draw Yaoi commissions of Sonny’s characters.

OH BTW for you non-otakus: Yaoi is Boy-Love

But I was asked to do a commission of a Yuri Con Kitty. Which I turned down.

As I’ve said in last week’s update I’m currently in a moving process right now. Seeing as all of my drawing materials are about 12 miles up the road, we don’t have an incentive this week. I apologize, but please vote anyway.

HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT:
I have sent off the first printing of the first Volume of Ninja’d.
Hopefully we’ll have a September release. Still haven’t decided on the price or how I’m going to go at selling it online.
The website that I am currently in negotiations with on printing it at demand is going through some updates at the moment so I cant exactly get the account set up. I may also be holding a special contest in September for the release. The Winner may be getting a Signed Copy of the book! Still in the works, but keep updated!

Yet, again…. semi-true story!
I thought I was going to die from a panic attack when I found out Lydia (Sonny’s Carbombs Character) was based on his wife Gayla. It just made the pressure of that situation ten times harder on me. I remembered calling up my friend Stephanie after he told me who she was based on and freaking out over the phone about it. Sadly, she had to calm me down enough to actually finish the drawing. I believe I went through at least 3 rough drafts. But it turned out good none the less. Sonny ended up drawing a Carbombs styled version of Kakashi Hatake from Naruto for me, and it was frackin adorable!!

And for the record…. no, I didn’t choose Lydia because she was the easiest to convert to my style (that was just a perk LOL), I chose her cause she was my favorite character in his comic!

Sorry, up a day late cause the Ted in me told me this morning it was Thursday instead of Friday!

Cept instead of asking me to do an art trade at my booth, Sonny asked to do an art trade after the awkward silence of me haggling him on his prices LOL. Needless to say after I agreed, for a full 10 seconds…. I couldn’t tell you what a pencil was let alone show you how to use it.

Sorry no incentive this week.
Please still vote though. I’m pressed for time and I’ve got a project I have to get done tonight. Like I said before, I seriously all day long thought that today was Thursday, and didn’t have anything prepared.

This Particular Comic is nearly completely based on true events.
Cept, unlike Ted, I was way more nicer, and still at the same time just as stupid.

What Originally Happened:
I wont lie, it took about 3 hours to work up the nerve to go say hi to Sonny. I mean, the guy is a famous comic book writer and voice actor, and I had been battling my inner fangirl all afternoon about the con itself anyway. I just didn’t want to do anything regretful……
When I finally came over to say hi, my initial goal was to introduce myself as the girl he met through Myspace with the comics, and show off the first two comics of Ninja’d.
No… apparently fate had something else in mind.
I went into this bartering mode and began to barter with Sonny on his prices for a commission. “So could I get that price for two characters??” He looked up at me with the straightest face and replied “For you, yeah sure.” Cue my mind cussing myself out for being so tactless, cause the look he gave me was all to familiar. It was the same look I give to idiots who ask me for free requests. I was so angry and embarrassed with myself over that all weekend.

Yeah my nerves were pretty shot after I arrived back home.
But it made for interesting interaction between Ted and Moony.

This week’s voting incentive is more designs for the upcoming Ted and Nindo minicomic. As I’ve said in the past, I plan on using a handful of characters taken from my old Naruto fanfiction: the Hitteki Scrolls. This week’s is a few headshots of the new Taisuke Hitteki……… yeah that’s right HScroll fans, you read that right. Taisuke HITTEKI! Vote for the comic to get the image! And thank you so much! I actually wrote this comic a few minutes after I met Sonny. It was inspired by my inner Fangirl screaming at me to scream something stupid like “OMG FMA RULEZ!!!” or something at his booth. There was more than one time where I had to tell my inner fangirl to shut the hell up and get with the program! So yeah, Ted is so my inner fangirl.

This week’s incentive to vote at Top Web Comics is another set of pre designs for the Mini Comic staring Ted and Nindo. As I said in previous journals and announcements that this story will be more detailed. This new detail goal of mine for the comic also called for me to give Ted and Nindo new outfits. I realized that their ninja uniforms in Ninja’d were too simplified, and dubbed them “Training” uniforms. It made sense seeing as the boys are students anyway and are still learning. I was very excited to get started on the new designs and have the first drawings as this week’s incentive! I based the designs off a few old designs for costumes I used back when I was working with Toshi as a Naruto Character. Her two students, a brother and sister, Yasachi and Yasaru had sort of a uniform matching look to their clothing design. It worked perfectly to inspire Ted and Nindo’s outfits.

This week if you vote for us, you’ll see more concepts of the new Toshi Hitteki design for the upcoming Ted and Nindo Comic: Secret of the Tanuki.
Her new look is relatively younger than her old design (in this comic we’ll say she’s about 19, not 30 like she was in her old fanfiction role.) And if you’ve noticed, it pays homage to her previous role! For the comic itself I do plan on going a little more detailed an all the clothing designs than in Ninja’d. The comic is meant to be more serious than punchlined.

This week’s Vote Incentive comes from an announcement I made earlier this week on my DeviantART site.
Before the end of the year I plan on creating a small mini comic dedicated to Ted and Nindo’s back story.
The storyline will include a cast of old characters back in the days where I wrote Naruto Fanfiction. The star character to those stories will be reborn into the storyline as a brand new character, and the storyline will be loosely based on the original FanFiction series “The Hitteki Scrolls”. Only without the Naruto themes.
This Week’s incentive is Toshi Hitteki. These are a few of the first doodles I drew to redesign her character.
She will most likely be the most skilled ninja out of the group in this new storyline, and Ted’s rival.
